Miklós Fehér was a Hungarian professional footballer who played as a striker. He was born on July 20, 1979, in Tatabánya, Hungary. Fehér began his professional career with the Hungarian club Debrecen before moving on to play for Portuguese clubs Porto and Benfica.
Tragically, Fehér passed away on January 25, 2004, during a match between his team Benfica and Vitória de Guimarães. He collapsed on the pitch due to a cardiac arrhythmia and could not be revived despite efforts to resuscitate him. Fehér's death shocked the footballing world and led to increased awareness of the importance of cardiac health screening for athletes.
Fehér is remembered as a talented and promising young player with a bright future ahead of him. He was capped 25 times for the Hungarian national team and scored 8 goals. In honor of his memory, the Miklós Fehér Trophy is awarded annually to the best player in Hungary's top football division, the Nemzeti Bajnokság I.
